Description:
Capacity expansion
Samsung's Göd site was one of the first in Hungary to produce modern batteries for automotive and other electronics applications. The factory expansion planned with our participation was actually already built as a capacity expansion. Our task was the design of steel structures, complemented by production and quantity optimisation. Our client was a manufacturer and assembler of steel structures, with whom we worked closely to tailor the steel structure to their needs in terms of assemblability and rapid fabrication. Meanwhile, we also had to keep an eye on the quantity of steel to keep costs within the contracted budget. We were delighted to travel to the site with a full office for a site inspection, as this project was the largest footprint we had at the time.
Order of magnitude
Within the project, we planned to use about 450 tons of steel structure as secondary structure, and the number of man-hours spent on the project was ~5400 hours. Our office had 10 colleagues working on the project and our client was satisfied with the timeliness, the quality of the design material we delivered and our helpfulness throughout the project.
