Our South Korean partner wanted to develop its European operations in Hungary. We were involved in the project from the first phase, including the preparation of the design programme and site selection. In order to successfully plan the project, we travelled to South Korea to learn in detail about the processes and concepts of our partner's manufacturing plant. The design brief was to design a complex site for the client with a built-up area of 16,000 m2 with manufacturing plant, warehouses, office and workers' accommodation buildings with associated infrastructure. The design was carried out as general designer. The design required complex overall thinking. The design documentation was prepared in Hungarian and English. The challenge was to familiarise our foreign partner with the legislation, construction technologies and building materials in Hungary. During the design work, we gained negotiation experience on the rules to be followed for successful cooperation with Far Eastern partners. In the future, we are confident to take on business challenges in the Far East.
