Description:
At the beginning of 2024, we were commissioned by a company that manufactures water meters and various measuring instruments to prepare the permit and construction plans for the production hall and office building.
The exact task was to further elaborate a previously prepared concept plan, to prepare the architectural and structural plans in connection with the permit and design phases.
The mass of the building consists of two parts. In the production hall, the work processes from receiving the raw materials to storing the finished goods are carried out. In the production hall there are rooms for the different work processes, a mechanical room and an office. The office building on the north side is connected to this mass.
Architectural and structural design in close cooperation
The two different functions required two different structural designs. The proposed hall is a two-bay, precast reinforced concrete structure with a sandwich panel clad façade, flat roof and internal rainwater drainage.
The office building consists of a 3-storey, flat-roofed, monolithic reinforced concrete pillar frame supporting structure with frame infill walls.
Working in a shared office with the structural designers has facilitated collaboration during the design process. Although we work with different software, we were able to easily integrate the structural model from the design phase into the architect's plans, which allowed us to quickly track changes.
